Sis. Sheila (Ramdai)

The idea of a home for children in Guyana, South America, started in the heart of Sheila -- Ramdai Surujpaul – about July 2005. Sheila lived with her husband and family at 111 E. Chestnut Street in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA and owned a piece of property of 42 Industry Front, East Coast Demerara in Guyana. She donated this property to build a home for children in her country of birth. She prayed much about it and discussed it with her husband and family. Everyone seemed thrilled with the idea and encouraged her to go ahead.

She further shared her vision with her church and fellow believers and was given a positive response to follow the leading of the Lord…

Her burden for the deprived and forsaken children of Guyana remained with her day after day and she must do something positive about it soon.

A bank account was opened in Pa. USA. on September 16, 2005 in the name of Bless the Children Home and the first contributors were Sheila and her family, depositing a total of $490 US.

The head of the Church of God in Guyana,Rev. John Mohabir and his wife visited our home in the US during September 2005 and Sheila took this opportunity to reveal her plans for the Project to them. They at once agreed to cooperate to the best of their ability to see this project ocme to reality.

A trip was planned to Guyana from November 1 -10, 2005 to pursue plans to get the project rolling. Rev. Surujpaul, Sheila’s husband, accompanied her on this missionary journey.

Once in Guyana, the plans were immediately put into operation. Inspecting the property, getting the relevant paperwork done for the home’s registration, securing an architect to make a plan for the proposed building and opening an account in one of the banks in Guyana.

Pastor Surujpaul preached in the churches in Guyana and raised awareness of the new project. Much enthusiasm was seen as people gave money to help with the project.

Thus, the project was off to a good start with the blessing of many friends.

Pastor Surujpaul and his wife Sheila returned to the US excited about what the Lord had done and will do to bless the children of Guyana. They embarked on a massive fund raising drive for the Home for children in Guyana. Thus began this work of faith, believing that God is able to supply all the needs of the Project.
